The Southeast Asian Film Festival

What: The Southeast Asian League (SEAL) is hosting a film festival this semester, featuring eight award winning films from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Along with lustrous perspectives of urban and rural landscapes in Southeast Asia, each carefully selected film addresses bittersweet and pertinent social issues in their country of origin. When/Where: February 10th to April 21st, always at 8PM in Hamilton 516.

10 February – “12 Storeys” (Singapore). English
17 February – “My Magic” (Singapore). Tamil with English subtitles
24 February – “Talentime” (Malaysia). Malay, Cantonese and Mandarin with English subtitles
24 March – “The Joshua Tapes” (Malaysia). English and Malay with English subtitles.
31 March – “The Owl and the Sparrow” (Vietnam). Vietnamese with English subtitles.
7 April – “The Betrayal” (Laos). English and Lao with English subtitles.
14 April – “Rice People” (Cambodia). Khmer with English subtitles.
21 April – “Laskar Pelangi” (Indonesia). Bahasa Indonesia with English subtitles.
