What: In conjunction with the current exhibition Dead or Alive, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City is pleased to present the cinema series Zombo Italiano: The Italian Zombie Film Movement.
When: The screenings will take place July 8th to July 29th. For information on screenings, visit their website.
Info: Throughout the month of July the MAD Theater will screen ten works from an under-viewed generation of directors who have pioneered special effects to push the boundaries of low-culture and gore, dealing brutally and humorously with the body at its most material, and offering in turn a grotesque but poetic vision of nature and humanity. Zombo Italiano features films by George A. Romero, Lucio Fulci, Lamberto Bava, Jorge Grau, Michele Soavi and Pier Paolo Pasolini, including both critically praised and lesser known works that usher in a new cinematic model for terror that would come to define the modern horror film.
