Apply to Write a Short Film For CUFP Production Season!

Applications are due THIS THURSDAY OCTOBER 1 at MIDNIGHT for our Short Film Writing Workshop! Short films produced for our Production Season next weekend will be chosen from the films developed in this workshop.

Workshops will be held from 5-7pm on three consecutive Sundays: October 11, October 18, and October 25, followed by a Table Read of all short films on Sunday November 8. Applicants must be able to make all of these dates.

Workshops are peer-driven, supporting writing environments. The pace will be quick; by week 2, you will have written half your screenplay, with a full rough draft completed by week 3.

To Apply: Please send your Resume, a Statement of interest, a 5-10pp Writing Sample, and three Short Film Pitches to CUFPproductionseason@gmail.com .

Resume: Should include your major, year, all experience with the workshop environment, writing, film, and any other relevant experience (for example, theater), and work experience.

Statement of Interest: Should indicate your enthusiasm, highlight your prior experience, and show your willingness to participate in workshop, read and critique others’ work, etc.

Writing Sample: Can be either in filmwriting format OR fictional prose. If you do submit prose, and have not worked in screenwriting format before, you MUST indicate so in your statement of interest, and plan to attend a Fundamentals hour at 4pm before the first workshop on October 11.

The 3 Short Film Pitches: Each pitch should be submitted as a log line, ie, 1-3 sentences that succinctly summarize the projects you are interested in working on. Make each word count!

We are really looking forward to seeing your work!

All the Best,
The CUFP E-Board
